A Fault with Comandante is that sometimes (tiny broken) beans can get stuck in the top hole, leading to improper grinding mechanism … wherein one loses control and the lid flips open, with the revolving momentum thrusting a few beans out on to the floor. One just has to make sure that the top hole remains clear before grinding.

Decided to redial the Comandante, and found that it was dialed in at 15 when I thought it was at 12. Which is pretty strange … and maybe a Fault (either in the grinder or in my memory). At least, so far I’ve not been making 1850 Midnight Gold at the intended grind size. Redialled to grind 13 (rest the same - 15g; 150g) today. Less Lemony (about same as 16th, however), some new crema, still Meh.

The AeroPress instructions advise against storing the seal inside the chamber because holding the seal compressed inside the chamber eventually will reduce the size of the seal, enabling coffee to leak around it. –Aeropress FAQ Fault

Fault: Had another Aeropress water leak. What actually happens is this: as I near the end stage of pushing, the remaining water – instead of being pushed downlifts up through the plunger rubber. This indicates to me that the plunger is not sealing properly with the interior walls of Aeropress. Replace Aeropress, or get a new plunger?

Fault: Another terrible Aeropress leak. Looking to be the result of the paper filters not being positioned correct.

Same recipe as 2021-08-30, but this time Aeropress leaked (the push also had much less resistance). No wonder the resulting coffee is weaker. Fault
